RAD Furniture unleashed

My friend brought me to the RAD Furniture's opening party. The Austin-based designers are classically trained architects, and I thought the product lived up to its RAD name. My favorite were the Barbara Stools. The stools look good from any angle and are comfortable to sit on. Two could be the perfect compliment to my Hans Wegner Wishbone chairs when I want to have eight for dinner.

Also worthy of note is the Classic Mirror. I have a large IKEA mirror with similar proportions
that has proven to be a perfect piece in each of my past three apartments. A large mirror can be hung vertically over a bed or sofa and is less expensive than artwork, but my favorite use is more functional: prop it against a wall wherever you'd like to open up the space. If I had known about RAD's $250 option, I would have headed in their direction. For $150 more than the IKEA, I could have chosen frame colors and purchased a quality piece.
